What can you say about a restaurant where the manager-owner greets you ma'tre d-style in a white tuxedo jacket, ushers you to a converted bishop's chair, serves a menu so eclectic as to incorporate American, Mediterranean and Japanese, then ends with a massive upturned ice-cream cone and a glass of milk for dessert?
With a flair for design (different local artists’ works grace the walls throughout the year) and drama (tuxedo-clad maître d’)—not to mention damn good New American fare—Sanctuary delights with the fun side of fine dining. The menu changes frequently, so we like the five-course tasting menu for $35, Monday–Thursday nights; you can add a matching wine flight for $14.
