"Exclusively Spring,"
Kjurek Couture's runway show at the W Foshay on Friday night, definitely lived up to its name. Designer Kimberly Jurek presented a new line full of bright spring colors, playful patterns and breathable cuts. Many of her looks could be classified as "resort wear" and would look perfect at a yacht party, paired with oversized sunglasses and a big, floppy hat.

I loved the variety in her cuts, ranging from long tiered gowns to short, halter dresses. She kept some distinct themes, like bunchy revealed seams and square, Kimono-eque sleeves.

Adrienne's accessories were definitely the highlight of the night, and looked fantastic against Kjurek's spring palette. The theme revolved around leather and fringe, applied in surprising places, like the upper arm or around the ankle. My favorite piece was probably the super long fringe necklace on Kjurek's strapless yellow dress. It totally makes the outfit.

A couple additional stand-outs from the evening include this deep rust dress that reminded me of the
Lakeville Look we shot for last month's METRO.

I also loved Adrienne wrap-around belt that would likely confuse the hell out of me when I'm trying to put it on, but look awesome when correctly worn.

All in all, it was a great show, and so refreshing to see a local designer put on such a professional, classy event. During Spring
MN Fashion Week last year, we only had one runway show (Ra'mon Lawrence Coleman) besides Voltage, but this year Kjurek and Laura Fulk both put on incredible events. Slowly by surely, we're getting there.
